Program Officer, Prevention and Peace Policy

RESEARCH & FOCUS AREAS: Violence and conflict prevention, national prevention strategies, United Nations intergovernmental processes.

BACKGROUND:

Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies with the SDG16+ team. For six years, Marta worked at the Center on International Cooperation, where she worked with the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies (2020-2023) and the Prevention and Peacebuilding team (2023-2026). Before that, she worked with various international peace and human rights organizations, including the International Peace Institute, Amnesty International, the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, and Geneva for Human Rights – Global Training. From 2018 to 2019, she worked at NYU PREP as a Communications and Development Associate.

Her work has focused on the 2030 Agenda, peacebuilding, prevention, human rights, and the Women, Peace and Security agenda. Her research has focused on violence and conflict prevention, national prevention strategies, the Women, Peace and Security agenda, and private military and security companies. At NYU PREP, she conducted field research in Colombia focusing on FARC-EP ex-combatants’ perceptions of the 2016 Peace Agreement implementation process and the reparations system.
