HOLLY FLETCHER-PRICE
(Non-Affiliated) Research Fellow, PREP
RESEARCH & FOCUS AREAS: Researcher working where peacebuilding meets emerging technology. Her research examines how immersive digital technologies, such as virtual, augmented and extended reality, are used in contexts at risk of, experiencing or emerging from violent conflict. It asks what these tools claim to offer peacebuilding, what evidence supports those claims, and what risks and governance questions they raise. Wider interests include PeaceTech, critical and speculative design approaches to peace, and the political economy of frontier technologies in humanitarian and conflict settings.
CURRENT WORK: At PREP, Holly is leading a preliminary study of immersive digital technologies in peacebuilding. It examines cases in practitioner training, dialogue and mediation, and memorialisation and cultural preservation, using Ricigliano’s systems approach to peacebuilding, and will produce a PREP working paper and policy brief in 2027. The study builds on her master’s thesis, Beyond the Imagination Problem: Peace Studies and Critical Design, which developed a Speculative Approaches to Peace framework.
PREVIOUSLY: Holly has worked across humanitarian partnerships, philanthropy and applied research. She is Foundation Coordinator at the American University of Iraq Foundation, supporting governance, trustee engagement and organisational strategy. At CoAction Global, she supported the Private Sector Humanitarian Alliance, a partnership with IFRC and UN OCHA, from ideation to its launch at UNGA 2026. As a Graduate Research Fellow at NYU, she contributed to critical minerals research commissioned by Electrum Group and the Office of Eric Schmidt.
