RESEARCH & FOCUS AREAS: Grassroots and locally led peacebuilding in extreme-risk and post-conflict societies. Her work focuses on applying peacebuilding within security and risk management, with a particular emphasis on decolonisation.

BACKGROUND
Arahana is a certified Trainer for Civilian Protection and the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) by the Centre of United Nations Peacekeeping. Before studying at NYU, she worked as a Research Fellow at the Office of a Member of Parliament in New Delhi, India.
